MMariners: Congratulations on a great season! Have a great year and see you in 2012!
Hi Everyone:
A special thank you from Coach Lynne to the following people who went above and beyond the call of duty in a big way!!
It goes without saying that Barbara Homack is the glue that holds the team together. Most of you have no idea of all the extra things she has done for the team. But I can tell you her husband and daughter know! She is truly selfless in her volunteerism. Over the course of the year she has organized and planned the season, kept the books, set up and organized the parent meeting, set up the team bathing suit sales, ordered the personal best ribbons, kept me on task with what I needed to do, and attended numerous league meetings just to name a few! She also attended every meet this summer including championships even when her daughter was not swimming. The team could not have run so smoothly without her help. I am extremely grateful for all that she has done for the team. It makes it easier for me to coach knowing the team is in such competent hands! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Barbara!
Outstanding Jobs:
Fran Closs - Swimmer check in: Worked every meet, set up and brought all necessary supplies
Tracey Algayer - Volunteer Coordinator: Kept everyone informed of when and what meet they were working. Recruited when we were light on volunteers for a meet and gave encouragement and praise to those who worked. Her friendly demeanor and encouragement made it easy for people to want to help.
Drew Homack, Jim & Allison Sullivan: Officials who worked all meets and all championships even without a swimmer. Drew also kept up on the maintenance of the lane lines and backstroke flags so they would be in tact for the meets.
Honorable Mention:
Bridget James - 8 & under Boys Head Marshaller (Did not have a 8 & under boy) Also Family Folders: Worked every meet where ever we needed marshalling. Set up and updated the family folders as swimmers were added to the team.
Pia McGowan - 9-10 Girl Head Marshaller: Worked every meet (Did not have a 9/10 girl)
Melissa Reimertz: Across the Board official at all meets. She also helped organize the towel purchase/distribution.
Brian Retterer: Helped behind the scenes taking splits for the relays. Brian and wife Lynne were also always ready to help out at a moment’s notice.
Peter James: Setting up and maintaining the team’s website. MiddletownMariners.com
Fundraising:
